Drake Postpones SA Concert to March 14

What??? Drake is actually coming to San Antonio for a concert! The Alamo City is no longer just a mid-tier sleepy city. We can now claim the right to hosting some big entertainers. First, Bad Bunny caused a stir when he toured in 2022, and the city said he brought a weekday economic boom. Now “Champagne Papi” or “Drizzy” will be in concert on March 14 and March 15 with J. Cole at the Frost Bank Center (former AT&T Center). However, Drizzy and J. Cole were supposed to perform on Jan. 22.

And if you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, good luck finding some lower than $100. Ticketmaster shows tickets on both days in the cheap seats for about $270 per person. On Jan. 18, Drake and J. Cole will kick off their 32-concert co-headlining tour titled: ‘It’s All a Blur, Big As the What? Tour’ which goes through March.

Drake is hip-hop’s preeminent superstar. In less than a decade, the Canadian rapper has won five Grammy Awards, landed 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2022, became the highest-selling singles artist in the history of the RIAA. His fourth album, Views (2016), held atop the Billboard 200 for 13 non-consecutive weeks, smashing more records — including Drake becoming the most-streamed artist in Spotify history.

In 2013, rapper J. Cole released his second studio album, Born Sinner, and backed it with his What Dreams May Come tour. Like 2011’s Cole World: The Sideline Story, his debut album, Born Sinner, hit No. 1 on the U.S. album chart. Cole, whose full name is Jermaine Cole, first got wide recognition for his 2007 mixtape The Come Up, which caught the ear of Jay-Z and eventually led to Cole’s signing by Roc Nation. Cole — who was born on an Army base in Germany but was raised in North Carolina — has since released a string of hit singles, including “Work Out,” “Power Trip,” and “Nobody’s Perfect.”
